Farmington Parade - Two-in-One Fun!

  • Farmington, ME 04938 (map)

This year the annual parade in honor of Chester Greenwood (of earmuff fame) will pay special tribute to Chester’s wife, Isabel Greenwood, a noted Maine Suffragist.

The Farmington Historical Society and The Farmington Grange #12 will honor Isabel with an historical re-enactment of a suffrage march. Members will walk in the parade wearing period costumes and carrying banners.

Behind them, the Isabel Greenwood Brigade will march representing women activists today who hope the Centennial will inspire a new generation of leaders.

Parade line-up is at 10:00am at Mallet School, 116 Middle Street, Farmington. If you’re not in costume, wear white hats or earmuffs to honor the Suffragists!

Parade starts at 11:00am

After the parade, there will be a reception at the Titcomb House, Farmington Historical Society's Museum on Academy St.
